Bedtime

Every night before I fall asleep, many things go through my mind and it's only after much thinking that the mind finally shuts down for the night.

Tonight, I'm thinking of my Paloma's Crown of Hearts.
Of random phone calls to and from Christine.
Of Stefanie's cry-one-minute,laugh-the-next voice
Of Sweeyim's sleepy face last night.
Of Yingting's birthday dinner.
Of Sylvia and the stories of Taiwan she's gonna tell me soon.
Of the many friends I'll be seeing this week.
Of the busy week I'm gonna have.
Of the little kids.
Of the time when I used to fall asleep in the arms of another.
